📌 Important Note

To ensure the best lodging experience, we highly recommend booking this tour well in advance. Early reservations significantly increase the chances of staying at top-rated accommodations such as Luna Salada, Cristal Samaña, or Tayka de Sal, known for their unique design and exceptional views. Due to high demand and limited capacity in these remote areas.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Uyuni – Uyuni Salt Flats – Colchani

Morning:

  • Departure from Uyuni to begin your journey across the world's largest salt flat.

  • Visit the eerie Train Cemetery, where rusty locomotives from a bygone era lie abandoned in the desert.

  • Stop at the small town of Colchani, where local artisans craft unique souvenirs from salt. Learn about the traditional salt extraction process and browse handmade goods.

  • Enter the vast Salar de Uyuni, a dazzling white expanse stretching to the horizon.

  • Discover the "Ojos de Sal" (saltwater springs bubbling through the crust), and take photos at the iconic Dakar Monument and the Salt Hotel Museum, built entirely from blocks of salt.

Midday:

  • Enjoy a unique picnic lunch in the heart of the salt flats, surrounded by breathtaking views and endless white landscapes.

Afternoon:

  • Visit the stunning Incahuasi Island (subject to seasonal conditions), a rocky oasis covered in giant cacti.

  • Take a scenic hike to the island’s summit for panoramic views of the salt flat – perfect for photography enthusiasts.

  • Witness a spectacular sunset over the Salar, as the changing light paints the landscape in surreal hues.

Evening:

  • Arrive at your comfortable salt hotel in Colchani: either Luna Salada, Tayka de Sal or Cristal Samaña.

  • Enjoy a delicious dinner and a peaceful night with views over the shimmering salt flats.

Day 2: High-Altitude Lagoons – Eduardo Avaroa Reserve – Siloli Desert

Morning:

  • Breakfast at the hotel before heading south into Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve.

  • Journey through surreal high-altitude landscapes to visit some of Bolivia’s most beautiful Altiplanic lagoons:

    • Laguna Cañapa, Laguna Hedionda, and Laguna Honda – each home to vibrant flamingos and surrounded by snowcapped peaks and colorful mineral-rich terrain.

  • Spot wildlife such as Andean foxes, vicuñas, and various bird species.

Afternoon:

  • Lunch en route, amidst the stunning backdrop of the Bolivian highlands.

  • Continue through the otherworldly Siloli Desert, known for its wind-sculpted rock formations.

  • Stop at the famous Árbol de Piedra ("Stone Tree"), a gravity-defying natural sculpture standing alone in the desert.

Evening:

  • Arrive at the remote Hotel Tayka del Desierto, nestled in the vastness of the high desert.

  • Enjoy a warm dinner, and if the sky is clear, step outside to admire the incredible star-filled night sky, far from any light pollution.

Day 3: Siloli Desert – Laguna Colorada – Laguna Verde – Return to Uyuni

Morning

  • Depart early to visit the surreal and photogenic Laguna Colorada, a crimson-red lake inhabited by thousands of flamingos.

  • Stop at the Sol de Mañana geysers, a high-altitude geothermal field with steaming fumaroles and bubbling mud pots—especially spectacular in the early morning light.

  • Continue to the Polques Hot Springs, where you can take a dip in warm, mineral-rich waters surrounded by high Andean scenery.

  • Journey on to the stunning Laguna Verde, a turquoise lake located at the base of the iconic Licancabur Volcano. The lake’s intense color is caused by high mineral content and strong winds.

Afternoon

  • Enjoy a final picnic lunch on the return journey through surreal desert valleys and rock formations.

  • Pass through the majestic Valley of the Rocks, home to strange and beautiful natural sculptures shaped by centuries of wind erosion.
